Athletic Supporter
Men who engage in regular sports, especially contact sports are quite often encouraged to wear athletic supporters. These help protect the groin area from strains, pains and injuries. Most men will attest to the fact that getting hit in the groin area by a knee from another player or flying object will render them pretty much helpless. An athletic supporter will not do much in that situation. However, in other situations they can be quite useful.
Athletic supporters offer support for the groin area. Many do not realize that there are various ways to injure oneself in that area. Groin pulls can be very painful and also can take quite a long time to heal properly. They can keep athletes off of the playing field for months while everything heals up properly. An athletic supporter helps minimize the risk of this happening. By giving the extra cushioning and support, pulling muscle tissue and tendons out of place becomes less likely.

Athletic supporters come in various types. There are some with the additional support sewn in. There are also 100% cotton athletic supporters. These offer the supports needed but keep the area cool and comfortable. The soft and breathable cotton material also offers a soft option for a sensitive area.
For those that engage in serious contact sports the athletic protective cup supporter is highly recommended. This offers the support of the regular athletic supporters but also protects by placing a barrier around the groin. It is still best to avoid hard contact with objects or people even with one of these. However, it will absorb some of the shock and minimize that chances of any permanent damage occurring.
When it comes to young boys there is a constant debate over whether or not boys should wear athletic supporters. Those against it fear that it will disrupt the natural growth, those in favor claim that injuring that area in an early age could cause long term damage. To date there is no evidence that Athletic supporters actually do harm the growth in that area. They do however reduce injury so wearing does remain highly recommended.
Sports and regular exercise are great for the body. However, for men injuring the groin or testicles are not only painful it can keep them off the playing field for months. Much of this can be minimized with the help and use of an athletic supporter. The extra support and protection it gives equates to less injury and more playing time.
